28 Oct, 2019I want to focus on indoor navigation for prototype 7. Last week while brainstorming for ideas I had an idea what if our home could talk? or what if door could speak about what’s inside?
Concept
The vision impaired person wearing a small pendant which embeds a speaker inside loud enough to be heard by the person and not others. Every door or hallway in a house has a small beacon mounted which emits what or where the location is. Now say if the person wearing this pendant comes near kitchen, the pendant receives the signal from beacon mounted on kitchen door and speaks “You’re near kitchen”. Apart from home navigation it has other possible implementations too. Say, a similar beacon setup is placed inside of a museum. This will not help vision impaired person to be guided inside the museum but also be useful to relay information about an exhibit inside it. Apart from vision impaired persons this can also be useful for people having trouble while reading small exhibit descriptions.
